Three Generations Photographed Together on Thanksgiving
Vashon Island Lifestyle Family Session
I have photographed Elise and her family a few times now, and every time is fun and special. This past session, on Vashon Island in her parents home there, might have been the most meaningful. The matriarch of the family, Elise's mother Alea, nearly died in a snowmobile accident, and is only now regaining her health and strength. When Elise asked if I could shoot her family with her brother and parents around Thanksgiving I made it happen. I took the ferry over to Vashon bright and early on Thanksgiving morning and arrived to the smells of food cooking and sounds of family playing. Alea and Dan's home echoed Elise's home with beautiful collections, meaningful heirlooms, and warmth. I loved that I could immediately see how Elise was influenced by her mom's esthetic. Jordan, Elise's brother, is playful and sweet with his nephews. Bryce could make Antonio and Zeke smile so quickly and I loved watching him with Elise while the grandparents took over the kiddos. I was honored to document their time together in health and happiness. I am very close with my mom, so seeing Elise and her mom together honestly made me feel choked up and I definitely called my mom on the way home.
