Jessica and Sofia | Seattle Studio Family Photographer
The charm of a seattle studio session | family photography
First of all, I have to tell you how amazing Jessica is. Her husband contacted me over the winter to see if I could take photos for them. They had just discovered that Jessica’s pregnancy was no longer viable and wanted to document that moment. I had the flu, so my sweet and talented friend Mandie photographed this devastating time for them. When I offered up mother’s day mini sessions I heard from them right away. I was stunned by how strong and incredible Jessica is. She is fully present with her sweet daughter Sofia. Their love was tangible. For me it was just incredible to see someone who had so recently been through a major loss, on a day that can be heartbreaking, beaming and truly happy.
I photograph most of my families either in their homes or at the studio. I love both options so much. Truly. Here is a quick little reminder of what I love Seattle family studio sessions:
three quick reasons I love studio sessions for family photography
The focus is on your family, with very few distractions. It really let’s your authentic connections and love shine through in the photographs.
Family photographs taken in a studio make amazing wall art. I use simple backdrops as well as patterned backdrops, and both look stunning framed.
No rescheduling for weather. In Seattle, this is kind of a big deal. If I was back at home in Dallas, it would be amazing to escape the heat. Here it doesn’t matter if it is raining, window light provides all we need.
