A Seattle Maternity Session at Discovery Park

Due to a few unforeseen events, this maternity session ended up happening after the sun set on Discovery Park in Seattle. Aparna and Sunith are so excited to be parents and it couldn’t be more obvious. They haven’t lived in the Seattle area long (they relocated from India to the Carolinas to New York and now here), so I was worried about the support they would have after the baby arrives- but Sunith’s parents are already here and they will have both sets of parents staying with them for a couple of months.

Is Fog OK for Family Photos?

In a nutshell, YES! If you schedule your family photos during the fall in the PWN, there are several weather conditions you might have to contend with. Overcast days, rain, and in this instance, fog! A foggy day definitely sets a certain tone. It is a bit moody. I like the way it separates the subject a bit from the background. It is like they are in a little world of their own. As a PNW photographer I try to embrace the weather we have. It can’t always be done, but sometimes it works out perfectly.

Seattle Fashion Blogger Fun and Photos

It is always fun to photography Seattle style blogger, Megan Pribble of Diary of This Girl Megan. I love the looks she puts together and the collaborations she takes on. She is working with Teatro ZinZianni currently, who has relocated to a beautiful spot in Woodinville, which is where we met up for her session. The glowy natural light and Megan’s fun look and personality was a winning combination.
